On January 28th, 2019, at the age of 67, Jerome Michael Schild passed away at his home, leaving behind his wife, three children, grandchildren, and dog.
Mike was born in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Martin and Miriam Rose (Strauss) Schild. He was raised and educated in Skokie, IL, where he graduated in 1969, he enlisted into the United States military in which he served for 23 years and was honorably discharged. While serving in the military, he had tours in Germany and Alaska as well as serving a part of Operation Desert Storm.
He enjoyed the company of his devoted dog, Bently, building and working on computers, cooking, lifelong learning and loving his children.
Survivors include: his wife, Marietta Schild; 3 children, Allen, Kathryn and Lori, grandchildren, 2 sisters: Carolyn and Irene and 3 nephews and 2 nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 2:15pm, Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
