Barbara Jean Wallace

Barbara Jean Wallace, 76 of Denver, Colorado; formerly of Abingdon, IL passed away on October 13, 2025.

Barb was born on November 1, 1948, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Richard (Dick) & Marilyn Rookaird. She was raised and educated in Abingdon, Illinois.

Barb married Adrian Wallace Sr. December 20, 1975, he preceded her in death June 12, 1990.

Barb retired from Holly Heights Nursing Home, Denver, Colorado.

Barb is survived by one sister Janet Rookaird of Denver, one brother, Mike Rookaird of Oclear, Wisconsin, three stepchildren: Amy Wallace of Kingman, Arizona, Adrian (Brenda) Wallace of Galesburg, Illinois and Melanie Wilson of Monmouth, Illinois. Also survived are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well her several nieces and nephews and her long-time partner Gary Benavidez of Denver, Colorado.

Proceeding her in death were her parents and husband.

A private interment is scheduled. A Celebration of Life is scheduled November 29, 2025 at the American Legion, Monmouth, Illinois from 1:00pm- 4:00pm. All friends and family are welcome to join the family in celebrating her life and sharing memories.
