Brian E. Harris

March 15, 1965 — July 14, 2019

Rockford

Brian Eugene Harris, 54, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Monmouth, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at his residence.

Brian was born on March 15, 1965 in Monmouth, IL, the second son of Charles “Bucky” Harris and his former wife, Vicki (Hamilton) Harris Johnson.  He attended school in Monmouth, and grew up, along with his brother, Ronnie, in the community playing sports and living the life of a typical kid from Central Illinois.  Brian was always precious.  He was artistic and loved music, especially rock and roll music of the 70’s and 80’s. Brian dearly loved animals.  He was also rebellious, which sadly after high school pulled Brian away from family and into a darker place, from which he struggled the rest of his life.

Along the way, Brian gave the world two precious gifts, two daughters, Kama and Briannon, whom he loved and for whom we are sure he wished only the most happiness in life.

In recent years, Brian had begun to move away from that dark place and into a calm and normal life.  We mourn the loss of a second chapter, which Brian was beginning to write for his future.  We are confident in a loving Creator, who takes all his sheep to his protection, even those who may have strayed.

Surviving Brian is his parents, his brother, both of his daughters, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will all miss him.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.   McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
