Carol A. White

Carol A. White, 81, of Galesburg, IL, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, September 28, 2026, due to complications stemming from her nearly two-year battle with NASH (Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, aka, non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver).

She was born on June 16, 1945, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Taylor and Marjorie (Stine) Clark. She was raised and educated in Danville, graduating from Danville High School in 1963 and later graduating from Lake View Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1966. After working for some time in Danville, Carol packed up and moved to Galesburg in 1983.

Carol married Lee T. (Bud) White III on November 5, 1988, at Faith United Presbyterian Church, Monmouth, IL and he survives.

She worked as a Registered Nurse for 45 years total, working for OSF Galesburg and Prompt Care in Galesburg for 28 years before retiring.

Carol was a farm lady through and through and an avid pet lover. She loved socializing at the casinos after retirement. She also enjoyed traveling. Carol especially loved spending time with her family and found the most enjoyment from time spent with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Survivors include her husband; her beloved Lab, Sammy; children, Lee IV (Holly) White, Kris (Todd) Champion and Kathy Norris; grandchildren, Lyndie Champion, Alannah White, Nick (Cassie) White, Kaylie Champion, Macy Norris; 4 great-grandchildren and a great-grandson on the way; sister-in-law, Patricia White Myers; Children from her previous marriage; Jeannie Skinner, Rex Warrick and Sean Warrick; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, one sister, Sharon; one brother, Donnie; parents in law, Lee Jr. and Annabel White; sisters in law, Helen White and Barbara White.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Yan Liu for the care, comfort and friendship she provided for Carol.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Friday, October 2, 2026, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. A visitation with light refreshments will be prior to the service from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Interment will be at Monmouth Cemetery. In lieu of plants, memorials may be given to the Fatty Liver Foundation and sent to the funeral home. McGuire and Davies Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
