Charles Loren Hare

Charles Loren Hare, 65, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 9:42 pm, Friday, January 11, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

He was born July 28, 1953 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Everett M. and Ruth E. (Baker) Hare.  Loren was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1972.

Loren married Vickey Britton in Monmouth, IL, on July 21, 1973, she survives.

Loren worked at Maytag for ten years.  He then drove a truck, operated an overhead crane for Union Pacific Railroad in California, and for the last six years he worked as a mechanic at Randy’s Welding & Auto Repair in Roseville, IL.  Loren enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, going to car shows, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving Loren is his wife, Vickey Hare of Monmouth, IL; three sons, Michael (Kim) Hare of Corona, CA, Jason (Amy) Hare of Virginia Beach, VA, Eric (Crystal) Hare of Pawnee, OK.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gerald Magnuson, Gene Magnuson; one sister, Mabel Magnuson; and one niece, Dawn Plotts.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A gathering of family and friends will be at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Charles Loren Hare Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.   For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
