David L Gerald

David L. Gerald, 61, of Kirkwood, IL, passed away at 1:52 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018 at his home.

He was born on June 3, 1957 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Robert H. and Charlotte E. (Bodenhamer) Gerald.  David was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1975.

David worked at K-Mart, Wells Pet Food, was the parts manager at Prince Motors in Monmouth and for the last 25 years he worked at MCR/IMI.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He loved baseball and collecting sports memorabilia, playing pool and darts.

Surviving David are five sisters, Carol Gerald of Kirkwood, IL, Linda (Bill) Shelton of Kirkwood, IL,   Tracey (Mike) Hackspacher of Ft. Worth TX., Roberta “Bobbi” Schnetzler of Kirkwood, IL, and Sandy (Dan) Osborne of Kirkwood, IL;   7 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Tom Schnetzler.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory.  Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth.  Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 at the funeral home.  The family requests that you please wear your Cubs or favorite sports team apparel.  Memorials may be given to the David L. Gerald Memorial Fund.
