David "Tony" A. McCleary

David A. “Tony” McCleary, 52, of Roseville, IL, passed away at 7:10 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his home.

He was born on May 17, 1966 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Patrick Joseph and Jean Elizabeth (Phelps) McCleary.  Tony was raised and educated in Roseville and graduated from Roseville High School in 1984.

Tony married Chris Tomlin on July 27, 1992 in Raritan, IL.

Tony worked construction for several years; he worked for Trulson Construction for the last 8 years.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Raritan.  Tony enjoyed making salsa and pickles, farming, and was known for his great sense of humor.

Surviving Tony is his son, Patrick McCleary of Cincinnati, OH; his daughter, Jennifer McCleary of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Marsha McCleary of Roseville, IL; one nephew, Evan (Megan) McCleary of Independence, IA; a great nephew that is due in November; friend, Chris Stockelman; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Raritan, IL.  A gathering of family and friends will follow the graveside service at the St. Patrick’s Community Center.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Tony McCleary Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
