Deloris R. Coleman, 100, of Monmouth, IL, died at 8:07 pm, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.

She was born on December 14, 1916 near Pleasant Plains, IL, the daughter of William E. and Nellie E. (Noble) Robinson. Deloris was raised and educated in Pleasant Plains and graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1934. She later attended Western Illinois University and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University. After graduation, Deloris moved to Albuquerque, NM, where she taught school for 16 years at Harwood Mission School for girls.

Deloris married David Coleman in 1959 and together they operated a magazine subscription business.

Deloris moved back to Monmouth in 2004 to be near her family. She enjoyed playing piano and was a member of the Baptist Church and a faithful servant to her Lord. She and her husband were devoted to their faith, their family, and their friends.

She is survived by one brother; Ernest (Mary K) Robinson, four nephews; William (Karen) Robinson, Edward (Cathy) Robinson, Richard (Mary Ann) Robinson, Larry (Micki) Robinson, two nieces; Janet Underwood, and Alyce (David) Jenks. Also surviving are several great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David Coleman of 30 years, one brother and sister-in-law; Emory (Clarice) Robinson, and one nephew, Bill Underwood.

A private family graveside service will be in Silent Home Cemetery, Cameron, IL. Memorials can be made to Monmouth Nursing Home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
