Donald Armstrong, 63, of Chicago, IL, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

He was born on April 23, 1962 in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles Patrick and Emma Jean (Faulkner) Armstrong. Donald was raised and educated in Chicago.

Donald spent many years working alongside his mother at a chicken processing plant in Chicago, where they shared not only hard work but a deep sense of dedication and family connection. He later continued his career at Brown’s Chicken, bringing the same work ethic and commitment to everything he did. Most of all, Donald cherished time with his loved ones, nothing brought him more joy than gathering around the table to share a hearty meal and meaningful conversation with his family.

Surviving Donald are his siblings, Annette Armstrong of Monmouth, IL, Anthony Patrick Armstrong, Jackie Armstrong, Ronald Armstrong, Charles Armstrong, and Ralph Armstrong all of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jacqueline Armstrong; and two brothers, Leon Armstrong and Derrick Armstrong.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church (1000 South 1st St., Monmouth, IL). Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to the Donald Armstrong Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
