Eddie D. Simpson, 58, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 8:42 am, Sunday, February 5, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

Eddie was born February 19, 1964, in Sidney, Nebraska the son of Paul Leroy and Marcia Ann (Pullen) Simpson.  He was raised and educated in the Oquawka and rural Biggsville area, graduating from Union High School in 1982. He later graduated from Monmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business.

Eddie married Lisa Frieden on August 8, 1986, at the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth and she survives.

Eddie served several years as a Police Officer with the Monmouth Police Department.  He later worked for BNSF Railroad as a Locomotive Engineer for 27 years.

Eddie followed the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.  He was a family man who loved spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Simpson of Monmouth; his children, Shelby (Martin) Bobrowski, Bo Simpson and Courtney Simpson all of Monmouth; his grandchildren, Gracie Kramer and Benjamin Bobrowski; sister, Paula (Mick) Young of Galesburg, IL; 1 niece and 4 nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents.

Cremation has been accorded.  A private family interment at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the ALS Association and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
