Elizabeth Edna (West) Fritz

Elizabeth Edna Fritz, 75, of Berwick, IL, passed away at 12:10 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023 at her home.

She was born on March 29, 1948 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Robert Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Shoemaker) West.  Elizabeth was raised and educated in Abingdon and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1966.

Elizabeth married Larry Fritz on July 11, 1967 in Abingdon, IL; he survives.

Elizabeth worked as a floral designer for many years at several area flower shops.  She loved her chickens, sewing, gardening, and was very creative and artistic.  Elizabeth was very generous and loved caring for others.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member of the Trail of Hope Cowboy Church in Boden, IL.

Surviving Elizabeth is her husband, Larry A. Fritz of Berwick, IL; her children, Alyssa (Ramon) Ceja of Abingdon, IL, Alyson (Joe) Fritz-Buras of Galesburg, IL; her grandchildren, Seth Cameron of Erie, IL, Kerrick Cameron of Davenport, IA, Ballari Ceja of Abingdon, IL and Trinidad Ceja of Abingdon, IL; her siblings, Phyllis (David) Tapp, Gayla (Gary) Steele, and Linda (Richard) Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Edward D. West.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Elizabeth & Larry’s Home (986 130th Street, Berwick, IL).  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
