Gary L Barry

Gary L. Barry, 64, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 11:38 a.m., Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his home.

He was born on January 20, 1954 in Monmouth, the son of Ernest and Ethel (Bennett) Barry.  Gary was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School.

Gary served in the United States Navy from October of 1972 to October of 1979; and earned the rank of E-5.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth.  Gary enjoyed playing baseball, caring for his homing pigeons, and spending time with his family.

Surviving Gary is two daughters, Meladee Barry of Norfolk, VA, Renee Presley of Waddell, AZ; four grandchildren, Tatianna Barry, Devin Calpo, Janiecsa Presley, Kyle Presley; one brother, James Barry of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brain Lee Barry; one brother, Charles Barry; and one sister, Beverly Barry.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Monmouth.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Wounded Worriers Project.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, is in charge of the arrangements.
