Homer H. Flint, 70, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 3:16 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his home.
He was born on August 30, 1947 in Waelder, TX, the son of Hoover and Doris M. (Kindred) Flint. Homer was raised and educated in Roswell, NM and attended Roswell High School.
Homer served in the United States Army as a PV2 Medic during the Vietnam War from 1967-1970.
He married Carol Foster in Topeka, KS on April 10, 1988. They later remarried on October 17, 2014 in Macomb, IL, she survives.
Homer enjoyed reading, traveling, playing the lottery, was a member of the American Legion in Topeka, KS, and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving him is his wife, Carol Flint of Monmouth, IL; two sons, Tyrone Flint of Monmouth, D’Mitri Flint of Nashville, TN; two daughters, Donnetta Sedberry of San Antonio, TX, Bertha Taz Marie Flint of Chicago, IL; three step children, Paul Foster, Justin Foster, and Shannon Foster, all of Omaha, NE. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Flint of San Antonio, TX; four sisters, Bertha Ashford, Bonnie Wallace, Alberta Rutland, and Jackie Flint-Lee all of San Antonio, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Homer Jay Sedberry; brother, Jamie Flint; sisters, Brenda Ballard and Dorie Dovie.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Funeral Services will be held down in San Antonio, TX, with interment with Military Honors in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
