Jacob F Overend

Jacob F. Overend, 40, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 at his home.

He was born on October 30, 1985 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Stephen M. and Barbara J. (Damm) Overend. Jacob was raised and educated in Peoria and Farmington and graduated from Farmington High School.

Jacob married Katrina Ramos in Bartonville, IL; together they shared two children; Jakole and Kannan Overend. The couple later divorced.

Jacob currently worked in the maintenance department at Smithfield in Monmouth. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Farm King in Monmouth, where he worked in the tire shop. Jacob was deeply committed to serving his community as a volunteer firefighter, a role that meant a great deal to him. He proudly dedicated many years to the Limestone/Tuscarora Fire Department and the Central Warren Fire Protection District, where his service reflected both his courage and his compassion for others. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and working on his vehicles. Above all else, Jacob cherished the time he spent with his children.

Surviving Jacob are his children, Jakole and Kannan Overend, both of Monmouth, IL; his father, Stephen M. Overend of Chillicothe, IL; his siblings, Joan (Matthew) Davis of Chillicothe, IL, Michael Overend of Wyoming, IL, Janetta (Aaron) Robison of Springfield, IL. He is also survived by his half-siblings, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by both of his mothers, Barbara Overend and Paula Hickerson

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Jacob Overend Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
