James A. Neice

James A. Neice, 81, of Alexis, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

He was born on September 1, 1945 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Wilbur and Gladys (Bright) Neice. Jim was raised and educated in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963.

On June 19, 1965, Jim married Mary Ann Peterson in Galesburg, IL. Though they later parted ways, they shared a chapter of life together. Jim later married Janet McKindley, who preceded him in death.

Jim worked as an electrician for many years, serving several companies across Illinois and Arizona until his retirement. Outside of work, he loved visiting the casino with his wife and enjoyed the quiet moments spent relaxing out on his patio.

Surviving Jim are his children, Brett (Billie) Neice, Brian (Bobbie) Neice, Jeffrey Neice; three grandchildren, Jaysen (Madison) Neice, Ian Neice, Gabrielle (Eric) Myers; one great grandson, Leroy Myers; and his sister, Margie Wilkinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet; and two brothers, Edwin Neice and Roger Neice.

Cremation has been accorded. No visitation or services are planned. Memorials can be made to the James Neice Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
