Janet E. Paris

Janet E. Paris, 63 of Kirkwood died at 3:38 A.M. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

She was born Aug. 10, 1949 the daughter of Robert B. and Lila Jean (Houtchens) Lozier. She was raised and educated in Warren Co., attending Hornbeck School, ICS and graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1967.

Janet married James D. Paris in Monmouth, IL on Dec. 23, 1967 and he survives.

Janet was a homemaker who enjoyed home decorating and gardening. She also worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Community Medical Center and later OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth before retiring due to health reasons in Nov. 2012.

She was active at the Countryside Bible Church and was a former member of the Kirkwood United Methodist Church and the Monmouth United Methodist Church. Both Janet and Jim were Honorary Survivors for the 2012 Warren Co. Relay for Life. Janet and Jim both enjoyed traveling and took several trips in recent years. Janet was proud that she was able to take each of her six grandchildren to Branson, MO to celebrate Veterans Week. The highlight of these trips included the Veterans Day parade, Dixie Stampede and riding the Ducks. She also enjoyed visiting Lighthouses with Jim. One of her favorite trips was to North Head Lighthouse at the Cape Disappointment State Park in Ilwaco, WA. with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; 3 daughters, Julie (Mark) McVey of Monmouth, JoAnne (Dan) Allison of Webster Groves, MO and Jera (Phil) Cofield of St. Charles, MO; 6 grandchildren, Mitch and Maggie McVey, Eric and Brad Allison, Ashley and Ryan Cofield; her mother, Lila Jean Fayhee of Monmouth; brothers, Gene (Chris) Lozier of Kirkwood and John (Debbie) Lozier of Monmouth; mother in law, R. Josephine Paris of Monmouth; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and father in law, James B. Paris.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Countryside Bible Church with Rev. Ken Muck and Pastor David Dutton officiating. Cremation will take place following the services. Friends may call after 3:30 P.M. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Countryside Bible Church where her family will be present from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Countryside Bible Church. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, is in charge of the arrangements, 309-734-6008.
