John M. Sasse

John M. Sasse, 56, of Galesburg, IL passed away at 4:02 am, Monday, December 3, 2018 at Aperion Care Center, Galesburg, IL.

He was born February 20, 1962 in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Douglas G. and Alice G. (Vaughn) Sasse.  He was raised and educated in Minot.

John served with the United States Army stationed at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.

John married Maria De La Rosa Alonso Figueroa on September 14, 2011 in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico and she survives.

John worked at as a pipefitter at nuclear power plants around the country.

He was of Baptist faith and enjoyed sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.

Survivors include his wife Maria De La Rosa Alonso Figueroa of Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico; son, Louis Sasse of Rugby, ND; his sister, Ann M. (Martin) Edwards of Alexis; his brother Alan D. Sasse of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been accorded.  No services are planned at this time.  A private family interment in Norwood Cemetery will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Association.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
