John G. Seatter

John G. Seatter, 82, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022.

He was born on July 27, 1940, in Berwyn, IL, the son of Gordon and Rose Seatter. He graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School in 1958 and then attended Duke University and Monmouth College, receiving a bachelor's degree in 1963.

He served in the United States Army from August 1963 until August 1965.

John married Jane Howard on November 11, 1963, she survives.

John worked for Motorola Inc. from 1965-1998 while living in Western Springs, IL, with his family. After his retirement, John and Jane moved to Florida.

In retirement, John served as president of their homeowner’s association for 7 years, including oversight of recovery from Hurricane Charlie. Passionate about boating, he was a member of the Isles Yacht Club. John and Jane greatly enjoyed their retirement, traveling on their boat, Koko, along the Gulf Coast as much as possible.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Seatter; his son, Brent Seatter; his daughter, Carey Seatter (Jon Fischer); his grandchildren, Kaelie Seatter, Maia Seatter, and Ian Fischer; and his sister, Judy Birchett.

Graveside Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IL. Cremation has been accorded. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the local arrangements.
