John W. Tucker, 63, of Alexis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in rural Alexis.

John was born December 15, 1961, in Monmouth, IL, the son of James and Karen (Carlson) Tucker. He was raised and educated in North Henderson, IL, graduating from Alexis High School in 1979. He later graduated from Illinois Central College, Peoria, with a degree in Fire Science.

John married Diane Vollbracht in Aledo, IL, on October 20, 2018, and she survives.

John worked at Alexis Fire Equipment in Alexis for 39 years as a Technician, Floor Supervisor, and later a Purchaser before retiring in 2024. In his spare time, John enjoyed helping his good friends Wade Johnson and Dave Unsworth on their farms.

He was a Board member of the Alexis Community Foundation. He was a gunsmith, enjoying trapshooting, restoring antique guns, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and close friends.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Logan (Talya) Tucker of West Virginia; Caitlin Tucker of Ft. Madison, IA, Jessica (Justin) Taylor of Kirkwood, IL and Miranda (Ryan) Vannatta of Avon, IL; three grandsons, Ethan Taylor, Emmitt Taylor and Brody Vollbracht and his special granddaughter, Brooke Vollbracht; his parents, James & Karen Tucker of North Henderson, IL and his sister, Heather (James) Bradford of Galesburg, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been accorded. A time of gathering will be determined and announced at a later date. Memorials may be given to the John W. Tucker Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
