Kurt F. Kruidenier, 57, of Sunrise Beach, MO, formerly of Monmouth, IL passed away on December 19, 2021 in Port Orange, FL while on vacation with his wife.
Kurt was born June 23, 1964 in Monmouth, IL the son of Judson “Judd” Betty (Liggett) Kruidenier. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Warren High School 1982. He later graduated from Hamilton Technical College in Davenport, IA with a degree in Auto Body.
Two families became one on January 2, 2000, as Kurt married the love of his life, Pam Miller, with their four children by their side. Their wedding was held at the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth, IL.
Kurt has owned and operated Kruidenier Kreations for the last 35 years in Monmouth, Keithsburg and Sunrise Beach, MO. His passion for painting began with his sister’s VW Bug, which turned into a career of painting cars in Monmouth and later boats in Keithsburg and Sunrise Beach. In 1999, Pam joined the business, specializing in the upholstery side of the business while Kurt worked on the fiberglass repair and refinishing. Kurt was also a Factory Approved “Warranty Repairer” of Ranger Bass Boats.
Kurt was a man of pure kindness; he knew no stranger. Kurt had an amazing talent that brought back weathered boats and cars to life. When you think of Kurt, you think of boats. Kurt’s passion was driving his Excalibur boat down the lake with Pam at his side. Kurt lived for his family, boats and cars. He was a very proud husband, dad, but an even prouder “Papa.” Kurt was always there to take time out of his busy day to help someone in need or lend a hand. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His legacy will live on through his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Kruidenier of Sunrise Beach, MO; 4 children, Tamra (Justin) Chandler, IL, Tonya (TJ) Finch of IL, Kyle (Destiny Rogers) Kruidenier of MO and Tomas Smith of NY; 9 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Kim (Don) Samms of AR and Kathy (Bill) Wilson of MI; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Calvin Smith; his aunt, Marian Chrisco and his beloved Yorkie, KoKo.
