Lola M. Perdue, 89, of Davenport, IA passed away on March 28, 2026 in Oquawka, IL.
Lola was born March 14, 1937 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Clarence A. and Mary P. (Knight) Perdue. She was raised in Muscatine, IA and Buffalo, IA and later educated in Davenport, attending Davenport High School.
Lola married Richard Schneider and they had 3 children. She later married William Kehler and they had 1 daughter.
Lola held various jobs including, nursing care, factory worker and was a big help in tending to the grandkids. She participated in and attended many pow-wows. She sewed her own Regalia dress and created beautiful beadwork pieces. All of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have many items created by her own hands. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crossword puzzles, roller-skating and fishing. She especially loved Bluegrass music. Her door was always open for family to stay and she was known to give up her bedroom for company’s comfort. She loved gardening and flowers. She had several dogs through the years and always took them on walks. In her later years she enjoyed car rides with her Beanie.
She is survived by 4 children; Zachary Kehler, Laura (Craig) Moorhead, Brian (Karma) Kehler and Lisa Dail; 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Breanna, Brenton, Aaron and Alicia; boyfriend, Herbert “Beanie” Rameriz; brothers, Johnny (Elsie) Perdue and Sonny (Sandy) Perdue; along with 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters, Myrtle Brockman, Elizabeth Kraklio, and Marta Hatfield; brother, Robbie Perdue; great grandson James Henson; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to her granddaughter Breanna for her gentle bedside caretaking in Lola’s last days. Lola was a fighter and she fought until the very end.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Lola Perdue Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
