Marcialee Gaskill

Marcialee Gaskill, 89, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Marigold Rehab & Health Center, Galesburg, IL.

Marcia was born on November 12, 1936, in Knoxville, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Francis Smith (McIlravy). She was raised and educated in Knoxville and Galesburg graduating from Galesburg High School in 1954.

Marcia married James R. Gaskill in Monmouth on August 6, 1976 and he survives.

Marcia worked at Maytag in Galesburg for many years, retiring in 1997.

She enjoyed reading and painting ceramics. She found most enjoyment in her grandkids and great granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James; daughter, Kim (Steve) Spence; granddaughter, Brandi (Nate Conard) Spence; grandson, Patrick Spence and great granddaughter, Alaina Spence, all of Monmouth, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Everett; sisters, Shirley and Joyce and her sons, Brad and Rusty Barton.

Cremation has been accorded. No visitation or services are planned at this time. Memorials can be given to the Marigold Rehab Memory Care Unit or WIAR (Western Illinois Animal Rescue) and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
