Marilyn E (Jahde) Bruch

Marilyn E. (Jahde) Bruch, 90, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 1:25 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.

Marilyn was born December 25, 1927 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Dale and Evelyn (Peterson) Watson.  She was raised and educated in Roseville, IL, graduating from Roseville High School in 1946.  She graduated from Knox College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.  She later attended Western Illinois University and Monmouth College where she received her teaching certificate.

Marilyn married Richard E. Bruch in Monmouth at the First United Methodist Church on August 15, 1992 and he survives.

Marilyn was a 5th grade teacher for the Monmouth School District for over 30 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth and D.A.R..  She was an avid reader and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her husband; 1 son, Eric (Mara’d) Jahde of Parker, CO; 1 daughter, Christine (Trevor) Neal of Granger, IN; 5 grandchildren, Alex Neal, Abigail Neal and Isabel Neal all of Granger, IN, Thomas Jahde and Bret Jahde both of Parker, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Steven Jahde and her brother Bus Watson.

Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, July 13, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 at the funeral home.  Cremation has been accorded. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the Monmouth-Roseville Education Foundation or the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth.
