Martha A. (Little) Buck

Martha A. Buck, 81, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 8:49 a.m., January 31, 2022 in Columbia, TN.

She was born on April 6, 1940 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Franklin Noah and Gladys (Thieme) Little.  Martha was raised and educated in Grand Rapids, MI.  She later earned her CNA Certification from Carl Sandburg College.

Martha was married to William Miller in Grand Rapids, MI, Jerry Pelak, in Grand Rapids, MI, Terry Owens, in Lexington, KY and James Buck, in Monmouth, IL.

Martha worked for many years in the deli at Giant & Econo Foods in Monmouth.  She also worked as a CNA for Western Illinois Home Health Care in Monmouth.  Martha loved to watch football and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.  She was a lover of all animals, especially her cat, Tommy.

Surviving Martha are her children, Mary Kay (Steve) Dircks of Stewart, MN, Bob (Joyce) Miller of Stewart, MN, Jim (Sonja) Pelak of San Diego, CA, Shannon (Melissa) Buck of Columbia, TN; her grandchildren, Justin Pelak of San Diego, CA, Jeremy Miller of Montrose, MN, Dan Miller of New Alburn, MN, Damien Dircks of Stewart, MN, Skyler Buck of Oklahoma City, OK; and her great grandchildren.  Also surviving are her cousins, Neil Orth of Texas and Rosemary Orth of Monmouth, IL, and special friends, Jim & Nancy Ricketts of Monmouth, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Interment will be in Little York Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the funeral home.  Memorials can be to the Martha Buck Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the local arrangements.
