Patricia A. Hopkins, 78, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 10:37 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at Marigold Rehab Center, Galesburg, IL.

She was born on July 16, 1939 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Forrest Wayne and Lulu Mae (Murphy) Day. Patricia was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1957.

Pat married James W. Hopkins in Oquawka, IL on August 18, 1962, he survives.

Pat was a homemaker, and loved taking care of her family. She was an avid reader and flower gardener.

Surviving Patricia is her husband, James W. Hopkins of Monmouth; two sons, Christopher J. Hopkins of Eugene, OR, Brian Scott (Anna) Hopkins of Morton, IL; four grandchildren, Ian J. Hopkins, Peyton R. Hopkins, Camden S. Hopkins, and Lily M. Hopkins. Also surviving are three sisters, Ellen Nelson of Monmouth, Sharon Munson of Colorado, Paula Thompson of OK; two brothers, Al “Tubby” Day of Tulsa, OK, David Day of OK, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Valarie Lynn Hopkins; two brothers, Rodney Day and Sam Day.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to the Warren County Public Library.
