Rodney E. Dutton, 63, of Spencer, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023, in Oklahoma City OK after a brief yet hard fought battle with cancer.

Born in Monmouth, Illinois, on November 28, 1959, to Paul E. Dutton and Paula L. (Hughes) Endicott.  Rod grew up in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School.  His last 35 years were spent in Oklahoma with his wife of 26 years, Shirley J. (Caywood) Browning Dutton.  Rod was employed with TMK Electric as an electrician.

He was a beloved husband, son, brother, grandson and nephew and his love for family and friends was unwavering.

He leaves behind his wife, Shirley of Spencer, OK, his daughter Katherine Jones, his parents Edward and Paula Endicott of Monmouth IL as well as siblings Mike Endicott (Dorrene) of Galesburg IL, Mark Endicott (Ann) of NC, Sherri Berkowski (Jim) of Campbellsville KY, Natalie Kirkpatrick of Chicago IL, Julie Hite (Marc) of Rockwall TX, Melissa Paul (David) of Kearney MO, Melanie Moore (Lew) of Blandinsville IL and Heather Fisher (Mike) of Monmouth IL, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Paul, and his maternal grandparents, William Hughes and Melba Stewart Hughes Collins and paternal grandparents, Ralph T. Dutton and Imogene H. Reith Dutton.

Rod will remain forever in our hearts.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Monmouth Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Jamison Center and sent to the funeral home.
