Roger A Moore

Roger A. Moore, 75 of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.

He was born June 12, 1943 in Burlington, IA, the son of Glenn and Marcella (Oaks) Moore.  He was raised and educated in Monmouth graduating from Monmouth High School in 1961 and later Monmouth College in 1974.

Roger married Carol “Cindy” Lucinda Goodwin in Carmi, IL on November 18, 1966 and she passed away January 3, 2007.

Roger retired after nearly 40 year with Security Savings Bank in Monmouth, serving as a loan officer and later Vice President of Lending.

He enjoyed Family and friends, storytelling, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, mushroom hunting, gardening and traveling.

Survivors include his son, Tyler (Stacey) Moore of Nashotah, WI; his daughter, Erin (Matt) Dvorak of Chicago, IL; 2 grandsons, Carter Moore and Cameron Moore; 2 sisters, Suzie (Jim) Vaughn of Manchester, TN and Glenda (Dick) Ryner of Monmouth, IL; 1 brother, Chris (Becky) Moore of Monmouth, IL; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant son, Mica Andrew Moore and his brother Jim Moore.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory.  Cremation will be accorded following the services with a private family interment at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.  Visitation will be Thursday morning 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
