Thomas W. Bollman, 81, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 2:35 pm Friday, October 30, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

Tom was born October 17, 1939 in Monmouth, IL the son of Tom and Cozene (Swygard) Bollman. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1957 and later from Monmouth College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in 1961. While at Monmouth College he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and earned his varsity letters in both football and track.

Tom married Betty Ann Jerden on June 9, 1963 in Monmouth, IL and she survives.

Tom joined the Illinois National Guard from 1957-1965.

Following his graduation from Monmouth College, Tom taught Social Studies and coached basketball for 4 years in Nauvoo, IL and Lafayette, IL.

Tom and Betty moved back to Monmouth in 1965 where Tom became a licensed plumber and began his 45-year career as an estimator and project manager for several contractors in the area associated with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #25. He was a member of the Galesburg Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association, where he served as President in 1982.  He also was a member and served as President in 1986 of the Rock River Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Association, Inc.   He was on the  board of directors and later served as Secretary and Vice President of the Illinois Association of Plumbers, Heating and Cooling Contractors (IPHCC).

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth and the National Exchange Club.  He served as the Third Ward Alderman from 1971 to 1975.  For several years Tom announced area high schools and Monmouth College football and basketball games for the local AM & FM Stations.

Tom enjoyed playing cards, golfing and was an avid reader.  His favorite activity was boating for years on the Mississippi River.  He followed the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Bollman of Monmouth, IL; his son, Dick (Tracy) Bollman of Glen Carbon, IL; his daughters, Kim (Pete)  Squier of Austin, TX and Barb (Sean) Bracken of Iowa City, IA; his grandchildren, Tom Wade, Brian (Chelsea) Wade, Katherine Squier, Jill Squier, Jack Squier, Mark Squier, Chase Bollman, Kori (James) Thompson and Jennifer (Craig Sherwood) Cervantez; great grandchildren, Logan Wade, Maverick Wade, Kierra Klapp, Kaiya Thompson and J.J. Thompson; his sisters, Martha (Dick) England of Galesburg, IL; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Myers of AZ and Linda (Dale) Hawkins of Monmouth, IL; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Bollman; his sister, Mary Jane Logsdon and one grandson, Jordan Kramer.

Cremation has been accorded.  Due to the risks and concerns associated with the Covid-19 pandemic his family has decided not to hold any visitation or services at this time.  Memorials may be given in Tom’s honor to the Warren County Library, First United Methodist Church of Monmouth or the Monmouth College Athletic Department and sent to the Funeral Home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. is in charge of the arrangement.
