Wayne H. Ault, 81, of Monmouth, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 in his home.
Wayne was born April 7, 1940 in Monmouth, the son of Ralph F. and Dorothy Jean (Schweitzer) Ault. He was raised and educated in the Monmouth area graduating from Monmouth High School in 1958. He attended Tarkio College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1963.
He married Carolyn Sue Boostrom, daughter of Dayton and Ethel Boostrom, on September 1, 1961 at the Gerlaw Christian Church.
Wayne was a business education teacher working for Winola and Sherrard School Districts.
He was a member of the Sugar Tree Grove United Presbyterian Church, Viola Lions Club, 4-H, FFA, an honorary member of the Future Homemakers of America and a blood donor having given 10+ gallons. Wayne was active in the Mercer County Historical Society and a charter member of Mercer County Credit Union. He was a talented photographer, enjoyed attending auctions and was a collector. Wayne and Sue hosted 3 exchange students and remained active in their lives. They were fortunate to be chaperones on Rotary exchange student trips. He enjoyed travelling and especially loved camping trips with his family.
Surviving Wayne is his wife of 60 years Sue Ault; his poodle pal, Onyx; daughters, Amy Sue (Tom) Glenn and April Dawn (Bryan) Young both of Monmouth, grandchildren, Reverend Zackary Glenn, Holly Sue (Kyle) Scott, Grace Louessa Young, Graham Scott Young; great-grandchildren, Eliana Mercy Glenn, Ezra Jude Glenn, Louessa Lane Westbrook; siblings, Bill (Caroline) Ault, Ruth Ellen (Steve) Shimmin, Richard Neal Ault; brother-in-law, Al Kulczewski, sister-in-law, Debby Boostrom (Rod) Fuess, brother-in-law, Rusty (Joy) Boostrom, Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Ellen Ault, Harry and Ruth Schweitzer; parents, Ralph and Dorothy Ault; sister, Peggy Ault Kulczewski; niece, Kimberly Ault Anderson and one great-nephew William Vaughn Gambetta.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation is planned for Friday, April 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family Celebration of Life will also be held. Interment will be in Sugar Tree Grove Cemetery, Monmouth, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wayne H. Ault Memorial Fund and left in the care of the funeral home. McGuire Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
