Daniel R Garrett

Daniel R. Garrett, 64, of Gerlaw, IL, passed away at 8:44 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

Daniel was born August 13, 1956 in Galesburg, IL, the son of William R. and Betty (Hainline) Garrett. He was raised and educated in the Warren School District and graduated from Warren High School.

He married Irma Martinez in the Monmouth First Christian Church on May 21, 1977 and she survives.

Daniel was a millwright and construction worker. He worked for Stewart’s Construction, M & W Contractors and most recently was employed by VS Services.

Daniel was a major history buff, he loved motorcycles and he loved Dallas Cowboy Football. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Tristin Garrett of Galesburg, IL ; one step-son, Brian Lovitt of Galesburg, IL ; four grandchildren, Dominic Garrett, Latrell and Kenyon Patterson of Galesburg, IL and Ryan Lovitt of Knoxville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Jeff Garrett and one sister Margaret Hudson.

Cremation rites have been accorded with no services being planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Daniel R. Garret Family and left in the care of the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
