Diana L. (Scott) Hallstrom

Galesburg

Diana L. Hallstrom, 73, of Galesburg, IL, passed away at 9:45 a.m., Sunday, April 30, 2023 at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

She was born on June 21, 1949 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Leonard E. Scott and Ramona (Torrance) Mathews.  Diana was raised and educated in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1967.

Diana worked for several years at Gates Rubber and Bixby Zimmer in Galesburg.  She worked in real estate in the Quad Cities and Galesburg for many years as an educational director and managing broker.  Diana was also the Past President of the Galesburg Board of Realtors. She was a member of Grace Anglican Church and served on several committees. Diana enjoyed nothing more then cuddling up with a good book and spending time with her family. She made many lifelong friends throughout school and working years and felt very blessed to have them in her life.

Surviving Diana are her two sons, Michael Hallstrom of Galesburg, IL, James Hallstrom of Monmouth, IL; her siblings, Pamela (Billy) Jump of Canton, IL, Roger L. Tharp of Palos Heights, IL, Debra (Jeff) Oelberg of Wataga, IL, Tina (Jim) Abbey of Fairfield, IA, Laura Dawson of Giddings, TX, Lana (Scott) Stewart of Galesburg, IL; her special friend, Steve Carton.  Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, stepfather, Vernon “Speck” Mathews, and her ex-husband, Richard “Dick” Hallstrom.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Raritan Cemetery, Raritan, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to Warren Achievement, Grace Anglican Church, or the Galesburg Public Library.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
