Glenndolyn "Lyn" J (Bruch) Hardesty

April 8, 1943 — April 26, 2020

Monmouth

Glenndolyn J. “Lyn” Hardesty, 77, of Monmouth, Il went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 26, 2020  at 9:50 pm at Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital, Peoria, IL.

Lyn was born at the old Monmouth Hospital on April 8, 1943 the daughter of Glenn and Norma Jean (Young) Bruch.  She was raised and educated in Roseville, Il attending grade school in Roseville and later attended Monmouth High School.

Lyn married Charles Robert “Bob” Hardesty on December 25, 1962 at the Roseville Baptist Church in Roseville, IL and he survives.  Together they have two son, Glenn E Hardesty and John R. Hardesty.

Lyn was known in the community by many due to the numerous jobs she held over the years.  She and her husband, Bob, worked on 3 local farms.  She managed Ye Olde Music Shoppe, Woolworths dime store, Spurgeons, she later was the secretary at Munson Transportation and finally Bruce Foote Chevrolet for over 15 years before retiring. Following her retirement, she babysat her great nieces and nephew.

Lyn was known for her fun and feisty personality.  She enjoyed sewing bears, reading books and spending time with her family and many friends. She was “Grandma” to many.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Glenn E. Hardesty of Bowling Green , KY and John R. (Nancy Bear Roche) of Kirkwood, IL; grandchildren, Brandon (Jennifer) Juarez of Burlington, IA; Megan (TJ) Bloch of St. Peters, MO and Amanda (Andrew) Gambill of Quincy, IL; great grandchildren, Grayden and Colton Juarez of Burlington, IA;  one sister, LuAnn( Bill) Fry of Monmouth, IL; one uncle, Richard “Dick” Bruch of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Dick Bruch; daughter in law, Mary Jane Hardesty; brothers in law, Gary Hardesty and Alan Crain.

Due to Covid-19 virus restrictions and requirements private family services and interment will take place at Monmouth Cemetery.  Memorials may be given in Lyn’s memory to the Warren County Public Library and sent to the Funeral Home
