Joyce E. Kirby, 71, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 in her home.

Joyce was born September 7, 1949 in Canton, IL the daughter of Ross Wayne and G. Elaine (Huff) Wooddell. She was raised and educated in the Canton and Monmouth areas and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1968. She later attended Carl Sandburg College School of Nursing where she earned her LPN.

She married Dale B. Kirby on October 6, 1995, in Monmouth and he survives.

Joyce was self-employed as a housekeeper and later worked for DORS home healthcare. Her most recent employer was Readings, Reiki, and Gems in Galesburg, IL. She retired in 2019.

Joyce enjoyed reading, doing meditation, collecting angels and copper meditation pyramids. She loved flowers, plants and gardening. She also loved spending time with her family. Her dogs Gracie and Sweetie were also very important to her. She was a big supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network, Ronald McDonald House and Feed the Children charities.

Surviving Joyce is her husband Dale of Monmouth and one son, Brian (Chris) Sullivan of Glenwood, MO. Nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wayne Lee Wooddell and one grandson Jeffrey Ross Sullivan.

Cremation rites have been accorded with no services planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Joyce E. Kirby Memorial fund. and left in the care of the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, is in charge of the arrangements.
