Robert "Bob" L. Collins

Robert “Bob” L. Collins, 71, of Burlington, IA, passed away at 3:45 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home.

He was born on September 22, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Edward and Marjorie (Atwood) Collins.  He was raised and educated all over the United States growing up in a Military family.

Bob served in the United States Air Force for four years as a Military Police Officer during the Vietnam War.

He married Mary Smith at the Petersburg Baptist Church in 1972; they later divorced.

Bob worked as the custodian at the Great River Christian School for a number of years.  Most recently, he was the custodian at the Eagles Club in Burlington, IA.  Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving Bob is his daughter, Cristy (Dan) Potts of Biggsville, IL and two grandchildren, Fisher Potts and Evie Potts, both of Biggsville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Biggsville Cemetery, Biggsville, IL.  Memorials can be made to the Robert Collins Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
