Thomas “Tom” L. Larkin, 72, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 3:25 am, Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL.

He was born on July 9, 1948 in Macomb, IL, the son of Edward LeRoy and Cecilia (Woerly) Larkin.  Tom was raised and educated in rural Roseville and Monmouth, and graduated from Warren High School in 1966.

Tom drove a semi for many years.  He also worked at Mariah Packing in Monmouth, Husky Built in Monmouth, and Scotty’s Builder Supply in Florida.  Tom was a member of the Warren County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Police for several years.

Surviving Tom are two sisters, Martha Damewood of Kirkwood, IL, Margaret (Ted) Frieden of Monmouth, IL; one son, John Larkin; three grandchildren, Kelsey Larkin, Brooklyn Larkin, JJ Larkin; nephews, Mark (Allison) Reynolds, Steve (Marnie) Damewood, Brian (Kelly) Larkin, Trevor (Susie) Frieden, Greg (Joni) Frieden; nieces, Debbie (Tim) Stokes, Michelle Cobb, Missy (Les) Short, Wendy Frieden; several great and great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bill Larkin; brother-in-law, John Damewood; and grandparents, Mike & Ethel Woerly and Edward & Agnes Larkin.

A private family interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Monmouth IL.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions and concerns no public services will be held at this time. A public Celebration of Tom’s Life and a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Tom’s memory. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. is in charge of the arrangements.
