Timothy J. Allen, 70, of Monmouth, IL passed away peacefully at 4:10 pm, Sunday, November 20, 2022, while listening to Neil Young’s Harvest Moon at his home.

Tim was born July 10, 1952, in Burlington, IA the son of James Timothy and Gladys Louise (Thrasher) Allen.  He was raised and educated in Burlington, graduating from Burlington High School in 1970.

Tim married Antonia Rodriguez on August 27, 2005, overlooking the Mississippi River near Gladsone, IL and she survives.

Tim worked a variety of local jobs before working 10 years for FedEx, 10 years at the Burlington Lowes and then 10 years at Gates in Galesburg before retiring in 2019.

Tim enjoyed his boats, cars and his pug, Miley.  He also participated in skeet shooting, civil war re-enactments, mowing his yard and hanging out with his “son”, Luke.  He was a family-oriented man and loved just spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Antonia “Toni” Allen of Monmouth; his children, Chad Bell of Monmouth and Nickolas (Trisha) Bell of Oquawka, IL; 8 grandchildren, Sierra Bell, Olyvia Bell, Shelby Bell, Cayden Bell, Gavin Bell, Elizabeth Bell, Yuriktzi Bell and William Bell; his sister, Judith A. (Michael T.) McFarland of Racine, WI; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Jasper Vester of Monmouth; 2 sisters-in-law, Cindy Gray and Ruth Guajardo of both of Monmouth and his brother-in-law, Michael Jones of Macomb, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

As requested by Tim, cremation has been accorded and no services are planned at this time.  Memorials may be given to the Timothy Allen Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
